Echoes of Lordaeron Guild Rules

Here you can familiarise yourself with our guild rules.

Corenthi Avatar

We want to keep things social, friendly and most of all fun in guild.
With that in mind, we've a few rules that you should be aware of.
Please be polite, respectful and avoid using foul or offensive language.
Do not incite or participate in any group spamming of the global channels (such as [Trade] or [General]).
Never ninja, complain about loot, beg or ask for boosts.
If you break these rules you may be kicked without warning.
You cannot raid until you agree to our raiding rules. However, agreement to these rules does not guarantee a raiding spot each week.
Help when you can, guild members are there to help each other, but please check online resources first if you're unsure of something.
Following this short list will not only make your time in guild more enjoyable but will also make your fellow guild members time more enjoyable too.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Raiding

Here you can familiarise yourself with the basics of how we raid.

Corenthi Avatar

Raiding should be fun, a way for us to overcome challenges that we otherwise couldn't.
It's also a great way to spend an evening and get in game rewards or achievements.
You must agree to our raiding rules to be eligible to raid.
To make sure that raiding is fair for everyone, and that we can achieve the best results, there are a few rules that must be followed if you wish to raid with us.
If this is your first raid please read Raiding and the guild calendar.
Be Prepared (see Raiding, are you ready?)
Ventrilo is required to raid with us, as are the required addon's. (see required addons)
Keep AFK's to a minimum (see AFK while Raiding)
Please follow instructions from your raid leaders, and know your tactics for each encounter (see Raid Tactics) If you have any suggestions that you think may be helpful then please say. Loot is usually master looted, and we use a need before greed system, for more information see (Need before Greed rolling)
Never spam in raid chat - especially recount see (Recount, the addon of Doom)
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Guild Penalties

Here you can familiarise yourself with what happens when you break our guild rules.

Corenthi Avatar

In guild, we have rules, and we also understand that sometimes people slip.
When you break the rules we have steps to ensure that you're aware of the situation.
Please be aware that this information is on our website to ensure that everyone knows what happens.
In this way, if the rare occurs, we can ensure fairness.
Note that these penalties are only imposed in extreme circumstances
1 infraction = a guild warning, this lasts for 2 weeks.
2 infractions = officer chat warning, you will also be demoted.
3 infractions = we will ask you to leave guild, if you do not leave, we will remove you.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Contacting your guild leaders

Find out how to contact your guild leaders.

Corenthi Avatar

There will be times when you need to contact your Guild Leader or one of the officers.
There are a number of ways to do this, either through whispers/tells, via in game mail or through the guild messenger.
Please be aware that we can get very busy at times, so if you whisper us and we don't respond, it usually means that we've either not got your whisper, are AFK or are busy dealing with something that has arose.
We will never knowingly ignore you! so please be patient and if we don't get back to you please retry.
I'm sure everyone has at one time or another missed someone's whisper or part of a conversation. Thank you for your understanding regarding this.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Raiding are you ready?

Find out how to be prepared for raids.

Corenthi Avatar

It is important that you be on time for each raid.
You need to be online 15 minutes before the raid start time.
Come prepared, we invite 15 minutes before the raid is due to start and from that point, You need to ensure that you have all buff foods, flasks, reagents, potions, any class specific items etc that you may need and be fully repaired.
Never assume that you will get buff food or cauldrons, or be summoned to an instance, be at the instance entrance on time.
Know tactics for each encounter that is to be attempted.
If you have joined the raid group to fill numbers (help out) then you will not be expected to know tactics.
If you are not online 5 minutes before the raid is due to start, you may lose your raiding spot.
If you are not adequately prepared you may lose your raiding spot.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron MainSpec and OffSpec

How we deal with main and off specs for loot rolling.

Corenthi Avatar

In guild, when raiding, you may have a mainspec and offspec (class permitting).
Your mainspec will always be your mainspec, regardless of what you are currently doing in raid.
For example, If you are a Tank mainspec and Healer offspec, you will always roll for tanking gear as your mainspec, even if you are in the raid as a healer.
You must keep us up to date what your characters mainspec is - for example, if you declare that your mainspec is healer when a healing item drops, you would not be eligible for that mainspec roll.
At the very latest you should inform us of any change at the start of a run.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Recount, The Addon of Doom!

Important information about this addon.

Corenthi Avatar

I want to be very clear about this addon in guild. At no time should any raid member post recount information in any communal channel unless specifically asked.
We are not fans of recount, it creates a bad player attitude when people focus on that instead of the task at hand.
Recount data means absolutely nothing if a boss doesn't die.
In the same light, your 9k DPS means absolutely nothing if you die 5 seconds into the fight.
If you must use recount, use it for your own personal reasons, and if you're trying to get a gauge of your own DPS then please use the Damage Done meter, not the DPS meter.
Please also ensure that you aren't looking at recount during an encounter.

A little rant there, but we really do not like this addon!
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Raiding Tactics

Important information about tactics and raiding.

Corenthi Avatar

When raiding, it is important you know what you're getting yourself into.
You are expected to know all tactics for the bosses that are to be encountered as well as the trash mobs in each instance.
You can find boss tactics on youtube, we prefer you know the tankspot versions.

If you do not know tactics for each encounter, you may be removed from the raid group, forfeiting your spot.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Raiding and AFK's

Important information about going AFK during a raid.

Corenthi Avatar

During runs we offer scheduled bio breaks, and if people need to take a quick break then that is usually fine.
However, that being said, there are several people who repeatedly AFK, putting that in mind, people who excessively go AFK or BRB etc will be monitored, and if neccessary they will be removed from group and may be put on suspension from raiding following normal raiding rules.
If you think you will be AFK for more than 10% of the run, please seriously consider whether you should accept, if you have real life situations that is fine, but remember the other 9/24 people in the group.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Raiding Calendar Basics

Important information about the raiding calendar.

Corenthi Avatar

Invites for raids and other guild events are placed in the guild calendar in-game.
Before you reply to your invite there are a few things you should know.

Please do not remove yourselves from the calendar for any reason.
If you click accept, you are informing your interest and availability to participate in the event.
If you click tentative, then you are saying that you aren't sure if you can make it or not.
If you click decline, you are informing that you cannot or would rather not participate.
If you do not respond, we will assume that you aren't bothered about attending.

If you click accept, then later need to change your status, please let us know, and if you are unable to attend then please set yourself to decline as soon as possible.
We will not hold this against you, whether you need to take care of real life stuff, or just feel a bit burnt out, it makes a difference to us if you let us know.
Players who fail to respond to three consecutive invites (players status is "invited" three times in a row), will be removed from the master invite list.
Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Raiding Calendar Missing a Raid

Important information about the raiding calendar.

Corenthi Avatar

We expect people to attend raids when they click accept or are confirmed.

Should you not be available when the raid starts, your status will be changed to "Out".
If you miss a raid, please let us know as soon as possible, no matter the reason.
We understand that real life can get in the way, and real life should always come first.
So if there is a genuine reason for not being able to attend then please let us know as soon as possible, even after the event has occured.
We will not penalise you for real life issues.
If you have simply forgotten, telling us will also help, you will still be placed as "out" but the fact you were willing to use common decency will go in your favor in guild.
If you are set to "Out" you will be automatically set to "Out" for each event for the upcoming week, loosing your right to raid for that 7 day period.

Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Raiding Calendar What to Expect

Important information about the raiding calendar.

Corenthi Avatar

We aim to confirm people to an event as soon as is possible, ideally 24 hours before the event.
If more people have accepted than there are spaces, priority will be given to those players that have accepted first, based on guild rank.
For example, hero's would be confirmed before veterans and veterans before members.
If however that would make the group unfeasible, then the group will be formed on feasibility staying within the above guidelines as much as possible.
Priority will be given for those who accept over those tentative for an event.
If you accept, you may still not be offered a spot, it depends on what the event needs.
If you are set to standby, you are expected to be available should someone leave early.
There may be occasions where a specific event may be over two or more days.
The original group will always have priority for continuations, regardless of circumstances.
However, if a member only comes to the easy part of specific runs and not continuations, then the officers will discuss the situation with said player.
Invites for each event will go out roughly 7 days in advance, and no less than 3 days, unless there is a "spur of the moment" scenario.

Thanks, C

Echoes of Lordaeron Inactivity Policy

Find out what our policy is for inactive players.

Corenthi Avatar

Need is always mainspec, and greed is always offspec.
You will always roll need for your characters mainspec regardless of what you are currently doing in the raid.
If you win an item, you will loose priority on your next roll.
This means that if you roll again and someone else does, regardless of your roll, you will not win the item.
Of course, if the other player who rolls has won the same number of items as you, then the highest roll will win.
Offspec is separate from the Need roll, but operates in the same manner.
If you win a BoE item, you are expected to equip the item immediately to bind it to yourself.
Finally, recipes and the likes are to only be need rolled by those with the required proficiency.
If no one has a the required proficiency or a BoE item is not useful to a raid participant these items will be placed in the guild bank, along with any disenchanted materials.

Thanks, C
